The Challenge
Troy Rhone Gardens has deep roots in landscape architecture and the garden world. His award-winning garden designs have grown and expanded to include beautiful landscapes across the United States. The new brand and website needed to showcase his team’s incredible talent — while at the same time keeping the garden designs as the star of the show.
Our Approach
In order to make sure the new brand website achieved its objective of communicating clear messaging, we conducted interviews and audited the Troy Rhone Gardens brand. The main points the redesign needed to communicate were:
- A heartfelt and highly professional garden design business
- Their wide range of capabilities and expertise
- Showcase their designs with large photos and clear labeling in Case Studies
- Retain their extensive press history and blog history with SEO value
- Provide room to grow in the future to add an online Shop options for garden accessory product sales
With these points in mind, our team created a website that would appeal to both potential clients and set the client up to add content to the News posts, Press, and additional Case Studies in the future.

Well-planned Web Architecture
During our content strategy phase, we audited all the existing website content and press articles. We identified what was relevant and what new content was needed for the new site. Next we architectured the site to be intuitive and give users a seamless experience exploring the work of Troy Rhone. We communicate this through low-fi wireframes.
Our Content Strategy Phase Includes:
- Competitor Analysis
- User personnas
- Analysis of existing website content to identify usable content and what gaps exist
- Wireframes for website flow

The Results
We created a stunning mobile responsive website that showcases Troy Rhone Gardens’ work case studies online. The new site is a clean WordPress theme and is SEO optimized.
Additionally, we migrated existing press articles over and crafted new case studies with high-quality compressed images. The site loads quickly and gets great speed test results in search engines.

WORDPRESS DEVELOPMENT
Custom Theme Development
To ensure the new website would load quickly — and be a great experience on the backend for management —we created a custom WordPress theme. This provides a great backend experience for management and allowed for extensive custom development requests from the client.
Highlights:
- Custom WordPress Theme
- Ongoing WordPress Support
- Fast-loading, compressed imagery
- SEO optimized website
