We are thrilled to announce that we have recently been certified as a woman owned business in Oklahoma! This certification is an exciting milestone for our company and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.

Check out the directory of WOBC businesses.

As a woman owned business, we are proud to be part of a community of diverse and innovative companies that are driving growth and change in Oklahoma’s economy. Our certification reflects our commitment to providing high-quality services and products to our clients while also promoting diversity and inclusion in our industry.

What’s the Process to Get Certified?

To become certified as a woman owned business, we underwent a rigorous review process by an independent certification agency. This process involved demonstrating that at least 51% of our company is owned, controlled, and managed by one or more women. Additionally, we had to provide evidence of our business’s financial stability, operations, and management structure. (Honestly, the amount of documentation felt on par with getting a mortgage.)

What’s Our Goal with Certification?

Was it worth it? Yes, we’re honored to have received this certification, which not only recognizes our hard work but also opens up new opportunities for us. Many organizations, both public and private, have procurement programs that give preference to woman owned businesses. This certification will allow us to participate in these programs, giving us access to new markets and potential clients. Certain website design and development projects (especially projects focused on women-owned organizations, crisis management, and abuse help) are allocating more bids just for certified businesses and/or minority businesses.

One of our desires for the future of Wooster Creative is to work specifically with non-profits and other organizations on their design and development projects that help people. Our aim is to work on branding, website design and web development projects that make a direct impact on the lives of others for the good. (And yes, this may sound simple or trite… but the road to qualifying to work on some of these projects can be long.) Many of these projects fall under the umbrella of government projects or other non-profits which are funded by organizations requiring certifications.

If you are a female business owner (or on your way to being one), we encourage you to get certified. The process is thorough and can feel a little labor intensive, but trust us, it’s worth it.

As a certified woman owned business, we are excited to continue our growth. We remain committed to providing exceptional branding, design, web development and website support services to our clients. It’s our privilege to support such wonderful small businesses and promote diversity and inclusion in our industry.

Thank you for your support (especially you, Cathy Curtis over at OKC Commerce). We look forward to sharing our future successes with you!
